Our Work

SSN provides a framework for international cooperation among non-governmental organizations. Through such cooperation, environmental, conservation and animal protection organizations can present to the various government bodies that participate in CITES, a strong, clear and informed common position.

SSN assists Parties by providing facts and information to enable them to make decisions regarding the conservation of species in international trade and, increasingly, by being a resource for, and an active partner in, CITES wildlife education and enforcement efforts around the world.

SSN’s work falls into four main categories: advocacy, outreach, research, and training.
